Sponsoring a child
The idea of Children of the Lake is to put the money that would usually be taken as profit and use it to sponsor an indigenous Mayan student for one year of study. It is hoped that this would eventuate into 3 year commitment period to ensure the child has the support they need for the duration of their studies. Each person who travels with Children of the Lake will have an amazing opportunity to share in the beauty of granting a student the much needed money to continue their studies. During the trip you will have the opportunity to meet the student you are sponsoring and meet their family, see where they live and the school they will be attending.
